EVP - Unprovoked or Residual responses (Click on red links to hear EVP recordings) An unprovoked EVP is that of a 'ghost' or 'spirit' voice speaking without provocation from an investigator. The utterances have nothing to do with what is happening at the time that they are captured - such as setting up equipment, speaking in the middle of investigators' conversations, etc. Some may be intellectual in nature, yet we are unable to determine their meaning at the time of our analysis. Residual responses are much like a residual haunting: they are being played back over and over throughout time - like a tape recorder, somehow imprinted on the environment. They are not intellectual "ghosts", only remnants of the past. |
